About

Hey there!  My name is Logan, owner and creator of Logan M. Hale Photography.  Here is a little bit of a backstory about me.  I was born and raised in Roanoke, Virginia and have lived there the majority of my life.  I attended William Byrd High School and while there I discovered my passion for photography, thanks to an amazing teacher that signed me up for her photography class my freshman year.  At that time I had a little point and shoot camera that didn't have very good quality; however, I did take some decent photos with it.  What really made my heart go ablaze for photography was the next year when my point and shoot camera broke and my mom gave me her Nikon DSLR camera.  I noticed an immediate change in quality of photos.  I was amazed with the quality and detail that was exhibited and from that moment forward my interest grew; so much so, that when it was time to figure out what my plans after high school were, I saw my path clear as day.  I knew I wanted to own my own business as a Photographer.

My passion grew more and more each day, but I was determined to build the foundation of being an artist and a business man.  I attended Virginia Western Community College and got an Associates degree in Liberal Arts – Fine Arts; as well as, an Associates degree in Business Management and a certificate for Entrepreneurship.  As I was finishing up with my second associates degree, the pandemic struck and I had to finish that semester; as well as, start my Bachelors virtually.  I moved to Harrisonburg, Virginia in August of 2020 and attended school at James Madison University for my Bachelors.  I graduated in May of 2022 with a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts concentration in Photography.

While at JMU, I worked at Wendy’s, first as a crew but soon moved up to being a full time shift manager; as well as, being a full time student.  I was also a part of The Breeze, which is the newspaper for JMU, as a photographer.  After I graduating I stayed with Wendy’s for a year longer to further gain some management skills.   Once I left Wendy’s I set my sights on trying to find photography opportunities and managed to find a part time seasonal job and a full time job.  The seasonal job was with TSS Photography, photographing children’s sports team photos and yearbook photographs. I am currently working full-time at CBS19 located in Charlottesville, Virginia until my photography business starts to thrive.
